The week surrounding Halloween can open a rift between our world and other stranger worlds. Some think those other worlds are home to the dead, strange entities or something terrifying. But Mother Nature does a good job of keeping out the most dangerous denizens of the dark.

When The Veil Thins …

Halloween has long been known as a day when the weird and magical can manifest. On this date, the wall that protects the physical world we know becomes thin. And things can get through from another place.

That other place sits behind the Veil, a protective barrier that keeps dark, scary things from harming us. It also changes how magic works and how probabilities collide.

I don’t think we’ll ever know why the Veil thins to its breaking point on Halloween. It could just be a normal, annual event. Perhaps the earth’s revolution point has something to do with? Maybe there’s a magical link to Samhain?

The Impact On Magic, Monsters & The Impossible

When the Veil thins, monsters can break through, weird science works better, and magic becomes more powerful. I understand why Celts dressed up to scare away the odd things that happen around Halloween.

Three days before and three days after Halloween, we can see the impact of the thinning Veil. During this week, spells become more powerful, monsters may rampage, and the slimmest possibilities become probable.

Magic

When the Veil thins, spellcasters find their magic becomes super-potent. For example, a fire spell to light candles in room may burn down the house and yard. It takes less effort to manifest their intentions. Normally, magic workers become exhausted after casting a spell, but not when the Veil thins. They have more energy and could craft new spells with ease.

But there could be an unexpected twist: Some spells that should help could harm, and some spells to harm may end up killing.

Temper your magic during this period.

Monsters

A thinning Veil lets all sorts of different entities into our world. We normally call them monsters, but they’re just regular beings from the other side. You may see giant insects, mutant bats, cyborgs or other strangeness.

But a thin Veil also lets regular people manifest their own fears as monsters. They’re called tulpas, or living thoughts.

While it’s a time for scary things, don’t let your fears take over. You may end up with a tulpa looking for you.

The Improbable Happens

Impossible events can happen during this period. For some reason, probabilities shift and what seems like a 1-in-a-million chance becomes a 1-in-10 chance.

Really, the oddest things can happen during the week of Halloween. Check for scientific breakthroughs to see what caused them to happen. Was it hard work or something else? Are coincidental events really random?

There may be some connection you won’t find until you dig deeper.

Mother Nature Protects

You don’t need to be frightened by the weirdness of Halloween. Mother Nature is a great protector. It can close the Veil or heal ruptures. Those monsters, strange events and powerful magic will fade as it gets to work closing the opening.

We’re not sure if it’s the magnetic field, moving out of a cosmic position, or Mother Nature itself stepping in, but our physical world has a low tolerance for this kind of imbalance.

By mid-November, you’d never even know we came so close to a monster invasion.
