Are Ghosts Real? | Ghostly Q&A

Science hasn’t proven ghosts exist, but that hasn’t stopped paranormal investigators from documenting encounters. When something is paranormal or supernatural, it exits outside what science can measure. And that’s why scientist don’t believe they exist.

3 Common Explanations For Ghosts

Ghost have long been part of mankind’s history. They’ve been mentioned in the Bible and other sacred text for thousands of years.

But no one has verified a ghost manifested.

There’s 3 common theories to explain the phenomena. These include:

  • A ghost is a deceased person’s spirit or soul
  • A ghost is someone from another time or dimension
  • A ghost is psychic phenomena

All three of these theories present problems for scientists to measure and analyze accurately.

The Problem With Measuring Ghosts

First, how does someone measure a soul? Modern science can measure the biochemical reactions in your brain, but those stop within minutes of death. You can’t even use your body’s weight because you exhale upon death. It explains the whole “21 grams” concept for the soul leaving the body.

If someone came from another time or dimension, there could be electromagnetic changes for science to study. But what would those readings and wavelengths look like? Is it in a band we haven’t discovered yet? A scientist would look into those knowledge gaps before trying to prove a ghost exists.

Finally, psychic energy is notoriously difficult to measure because it’s unique to the person. How would you even measure that kind of energy? There doesn’t appear to be an environmental change when psychic energy comes through.

Again, you could run predictive tests like Zener cards, but that doesn’t prove someone manifested next to you. You could ask the psychic to describe the ghost, but most readings are too vague to compare with records. A scientist could only look at changes in brain chemistry and nerve impulses firing. Most ghost hunters don’t have that gear around to test each psychic.

None of these current options would objectively prove a ghost manifested.

At this point, all we can do is document these ghostly activities. In time, science might catch up and re-examine the issue. If there’s no accurate way to measure ghosts, why put your time and resources against it? You would never be able to prove a ghostly manifestation to compare or replicate.

So, the best thing you can do is document the phenomena and see if there’s recurring patterns. If so, then you may have to be the scientist and use the scientific method to prove or disprove the ghostly activity.

Like a cure for cancer, or any other disease, there’s nothing in proving ghosts exist for the establishment. What would the existence of ghosts prove? Life after death? What would that prove? The existence of God? Well, there’s your answer.
