Apparitions – The Ghost Hunting Prize
Apparitions, or a ghost sighting, come in a wide range of types. They can be:
- Transparent
- Solid
- Partially visible
- Crisis apparitions
- Astral bodies
Let’s start with the most common type of apparition – transparent.
Transparent apparitions are ghosts you can see through. You may see an outline of a full body, but it’s not opaque. It’s like looking through a foggy window at somebody.
The solid apparition is a bit of a rare find. The figure is solid and well-defined. You can make out the details of its face and clothing. In some cases, the apparition is just a solid blob. Keep in mind that you can’t see through it. Most people believe the figure will be white, but that’s not necessarily true. They could be just as colorful as a living person, or they could be smurf blue.
Partially visible apparitions generally mean a part of the body is visible. A famous instance of this is the ‘Mystery Hand’ at the Congress Hotel in Chicago. Only the hand come out of a closet wall – nothing else. Sometimes, witnesses just see the top half of a ghost. Sometimes, it’s just the head. Just remember it takes a lot for a spirit to manifest and they may not have enough energy to pull themselves totally together.
Crisis apparitions are interesting. They are living people who, through extreme stress, appear to their loved ones. In these cases, someone is usually at the point of their death. Crisis apparitions tend to have a mission. It may be to say goodbye; warn someone about a danger; or, to point to a location for some reason.
Astral bodies have been recorded. These are people who can project their essence outside their bodies. Psychically sensitive people have been known to see these astral bodies and confuse them with ghosts.
